Live's local medium

Article Abstract:

The introduction of more television channels in the UK will inevitably mean that television broadcasting becomes more local, according to Kelvin MacKenzie, managing director of Mirror Group TV. This should lead to increased view choice, and should ensure that the high and rising costs of traditional terrestrial television are avoided. Local television is already beginning to show real value to viewers, as reflected in the activities of Live TV, a national channel which has local affiliates in Edinburgh, Liverpool and Birmingham and is soon to be in Glasgow and Manchester.
