Article Abstract:

The White Dots' Roger Scruton's idea of not watching television and only logging on to the Internet for a week has been met with some opposition as Mark Lawson and Melvyn Bragg describe television as a cultural contributor and superiority as a medium respectively. "Turn Off Your TV Week" is compared to "No Smoking Day" as an event to be ignored.
