ITV's director of television Simon Shaps is under a lot of pressure right now, making radical changes in ITV1's schedule. He has made several decisions that are sensible and likely to be successful, and he is praised for taking risks during the past year, although some shows did not succeed. Shaps' various programming decisions are evaluated.
