BBC to produce two new Minette Walters serials

Article Abstract:

BBC will produce two 2x75-minute serials, which are adapted from Minette Walters works, for BBC1. Funding for the new shows, The Echo and The Dark Room, will come from the investment made by BBC Worldwide. The Echo, produced by Kate Harwood, tells about an investigative journalist who brings to light a dead tramp's mysterious past, while The Dark Room, produced by Niall Leonard, features an ex-gangster who acquires amnesia. The two shows, which are scheduled to be delivered before the end of 1998, will be distributed outside the UK by BBC Worldwide.
