Niche channels face new year shake-out

Article Abstract:

Niche television channels in the United Kingdom will face lower renewal fees with platform operators like Telewest and NTL. Distributors have been able to gain the upper hand on niche channels due to changing market conditions. Channels not affiliated with a major broadcaster or movie studio will be among those most likely to be cut.
