Oxford explores modern art for C4

Article Abstract:

Channel 4 has commissioned Oxford Television to produce a series about modern art titled This is Modern Art. The series, consisting of six 60-minute programs, will be presented by the show's writer Matthew Collings, who also wrote Blimey, a book on BritArt. C4 Commissioning Editor for the Arts Janey Walker said the series is the first major program about modern art since two decades ago. The series, which is planned to be broadcast starting in the spring of 1999, will be presented according to themes with its initial episode to be entitled I am a Genius.

Pearson TV buys into Germany.

Article Abstract:

Pearson Television (U.K.) has signed a deal with Colon Productions (Germany) to acquire fifty percent in the sit com production company. Pearson wanted the deal so it could expand into a new market. Colon Production wanted the deal to increase its financial resources so it could produce more shows. After the deal is completed, Colon Productions will change its name to Cologne-Sitcom.
