Article Abstract:

Hat Trick Productions had a turnover of 12.6 million for 1995-1996 despite concentrating solely on the UK broadcasting market since its inception in 1986. Hat Trick, an independent television production company, is planning to expand its operation into overseas markets. Hat Trick's management team have maintained a clear policy of retaining program rights and establishing full financially backing from commissioning companies. Co-founder and director of Hat Trick, Jimmy Mulville, sees the opening up of new markets as a chance to develop the business into new areas of operation.

Tincture of telecine

Article Abstract:

Telecine is one of the least widely understood areas of the television programme post-production process. It is associated with a great deal of confusing terminology, and is generally seen as very uninteresting. However, telecine actually plays a key role in post-production, allowing pictures to be transferred from film onto videotape. New telecine technology is gradually emerging, including the launch by Philips BTS of the Sprint Datacine high-resolution film scanner.
