Poor results at Tektronix trigger VND speculation

Article Abstract:

Tektronix's announcement of a lower-than-expected financial results for the first fiscal quarter of 1999 has prompted speculations of a buyout of its video networking unit, Tektronix VND. Tektronix president of European operations Rick Wills categorically denied the rumor of a Tektronix VND buyout. Meanwhile, Tektronix predicted its net earnings and revenues for the first quarter of 1999 to decline two-thirds compared to the same-period last year. The company attributed the poor results to weaker demand in its measurement and video operations.
