Popcorn effect boosts ratings

Article Abstract:

Movies are performing well in digital television ratings, with "The Bourne Supremacy" on ITV2 earning 1.4 million viewers or 9% share, while "The Bourne Identity" listed a 6% share. There is a wide variety of films that are available for digital TV, and Sky has a good selection of movies such as "Pirates of the Carribean: Dead Man's Chest" on Sky Premiere which registered a 2% share. Other ratings news in digital television are given.

Musical raises bar for Disney

Article Abstract:

The premiere of "High School Musical 2" on Disney Channel, which registered an audience size of 1.1 million, has increased the weekly share of the channel by 1.6%. The release of "Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory" on digital TV channel ITV3 earned a 6% share, while Sky One's "Premier League All Stars" opened with 2% share. A table indicating the percent share of digital TV channels is also given.

The James Bond movies season on ITV2 has garnered high digital TV audience ratings, with "Die Another Day" taking a five percent share while "Tomorrow Never Dies" and "The World is Not Enough" both listing a four percent share. Audience share ratings of other films such as "Meet the Parents", and of sporting competitions such as cricket, are also provided.
