Pushing for promotion

Article Abstract:

Independent television production companies in the Midlands region of England are co-operating to create an identity and promote the area to obtain a bigger share of the market. An initiative has been developed by the Pact producers' alliance to encourage joint action and help develop programme-making skills. The initiative allows smaller companies to develop pitching techniques, and encourages local talented people to stay in the region rather than move to competitors in London. Media agencies have offered valuable support to the initiative.
