Article Abstract:

Broadcast ratings for the week ending August 5, 2001 are presented, with ITV's Monday episode of "Coronation Street" coming in first place with 11.8 million viewers. Thursdays "EastEnders" came in close for BBC 1 with 11.62 million viewers for second place, and the remaining "Coronation Street" episodes on Friday, Wednesday and Saturday respectively rounds out the top 5 shows.

British hopes boost tennis ratings

Article Abstract:

BBC1 recorded a sharp increase in its viewers because of the Wimbledon tennis tournament of 2005. The most watched matches were predictably the ones played by British hopefuls, i.e., Tim Henman and Andy Murray. The ratings of audience viewing other Wimbledon tennis matches are also presented.
