A mouthpiece for the local community

Article Abstract:

The Border Group, which includes Border TV and Border Radio, was acquired by Capital Radio more than a year ago, and ITV holds the takeover rights to Border TV, to do so within three years from Capital. Neil Robinson, controller of programs at Border TV, is optimistic about the pending takeover, and believes that stories serving the local community and connecting with the viewers is the strength of the station.

Article Abstract:

Potential consolidation of ITV's regional production network has been criticized by the ITC and others for stifling the diversity of regional production efforts. The concentration of broadcasting jobs in London and other metropolitan centers is seen as detrimental to the country's broadcasting industry.

Locking up The Bill

Article Abstract:

ITV1 has extended the schedule of its long-running drama 'The Bill' untill the year 2010. Paul Marquess, the executive producer of 'The Bill' has three major issues in his agenda, but his priority will be making the show a 'writer-friendly machine'.
