Cut-price BBC budget

Recently announced BBC budget figures for 2002/2003 fall short of previously proposed numbers. Although programming and service spending will increase 24 per cent, 28 million pounds sterling will need to be saved by the end of 2001/2002, and that savings will come mostly from job cuts.
