Super indies soar to a higher level

Article Abstract:

London's independent production sector continues to deal with the emergence of so-called super indies, larger production companies who have substantial commissions for a long-running strand or series. Although super indies have changed the independent community from one of a programme-making culture to a business culture, the bulk of the power and influence still remains with the broadcsaters.

Big issue straining the IP backbone

Many Internet backbone companies have been suffering from the recent market crashes, however, acquisitions such as Cable & Wireless's purchase of Digital Island are proving that Internet companies are still in great need. Although it has been hard to make people actually pay for the content that is delivered from online companies, the shortcut services they offer are still in high demand.

The internet became the preferred source for information during the terrorist attacks in America and is a primary source for news reporting on the war in Afghanistan. However, some websites have been censored or are hard to read, and not all information is true.
