Talent shines in the radio crowd

Article Abstract:

It can be extremely difficult for radio producers to find the most talented new young radio broadcasters. Many young people are now trying to break into radio broadcasting, and it can be hard to pick from among them those with real talent. Radio stations tend to prefer to use people who are already well known, and this can in turn make it hard for young people to gain a foothold in the industry. However, real talent still does stand out, and producers need to use their instincts to spot it.

Digital audio radio service

Article Abstract:

A satellite service, digital radio furnishes audio and data service to portable and fixed transmitters. This service will be available to both subscribers and the general public as a commercial broadcaster. It will use 50 MHz spectrum to provide digital-quality audio. The supporters of this service hope that it will compete with terrestrial radio services. However, critics argue that the service will have a bad effect on local radio and harm public service.

Service marks

Article Abstract:

Radio broadcasters' logos and tag lines can be protected as service marks or trademarks. Stations need to consider whether state or federal trademark protection is needed. Federal registration is more costly but provides national protection. "Intent to use" applications can also be filed by stations for service marks that are not completely developed.
