The case for conserving threespine stickleback populations: protecting an adaptive radiation

Article Abstract:

The threespine stickleback is a preyfish, which is a food resource to predatory fishes and for migratory birds, the unusual aspects of active radiation and the need to conserve its population is discussed in detail. Along with the threespine stickleback species there are other species, which are facing extinction, has to be preserved as it plays an important role in evolutionary process.

Will Canadian policies protect British Columbia's endangered pairs of sympatric sticklebacks?

Article Abstract:

The Canadian policy for protection of Limnetic-benthic sympatric species in the lakes of southwestern British Columbia in Canada is reviewed. Out of the three endangered species one is already extinct, the new national species at risk act holds lot of promise to protect these rare species, which plays an important role in maintaining the bio diversity.

Saltwater angler's attitudes towards marine protected areas

Article Abstract:

The basic attitude amongst northeastern saltwater anglers towards proposed marine protected areas (MPA) was analyzed. In comparison to the MPA's located in federal waters the saltwater anglers opposed the MPA's that put restriction on recreational fishing within state waters.
