The man for the Society

Article Abstract:

Royal Television Society (RTS) Vice-President Bob Phillis has been a member since 1979, when he was chief executive of ITV publishing, and served as chairman from 1989 until 1992. When he became chairman his aims were to broaden the membership base and encourage younger people to join. He believes that the Society provides a central focus that unites members in a fast moving industry. Advise and training programmes for new entrants, as well as dealing with the top ranking executives, provides the Society with a wide opportunity to cover all aspects of the industry.
