The untouchable

Article Abstract:

Satellite television broadcaster BSkyB plans to continue with its aggressive expansion plans for exclusive programming rights deals, nearly all movies and sports. The company is set to acquire all one-off sports and other event rights in order to force viewers, particularly sports fans, to subscribe to Sky. The aim is to give the satellite broadcaster an invincible position and will make competition almost impossible. BSkyB, with 4 million subscribers, revealed a pretax profit of 155 million pounds sterling for the year to the end of June 1995.
