The upside of putting money on an outsider

BBC's recent move to sell it's BBC Resources unit has sparked discussions among broadcasters and producers on the topic of outsourcing post-production facilities and technical support. Getting an experienced IT supplier to match the increasing complexity of broadcast operations is considered more practical for companies. The advantages of outsourcing in the broadcasting industry are discussed.
