Time for radio to revive the personality cult

Article Abstract:

There has been a clear lack of radio programme presenters with attractive personalities and original ideas in the UK over recent years. This is creating significant difficulties for radio programmers. However, programmers themselves are partly to blame for the problem, as they generally establish clear guidelines for young, inexperienced presenters, thus limiting their creativity. There has been extensive investment in training in the commercial radio sector, but little of this investment has gone to the training of presenters.

Carnage at breakfast

Article Abstract:

The quality of UK breakfast shows on radio gets affected when the guy behind the mike is responsible for literally everything. The rating figures will improve if the program controller is willing to spend money and hire a producer to do what he is supposed to do.
