We've come a long way, John

Article Abstract:

BBC children's news program "Newsround" has come a long way since it began in 1972 and now staffs 50 employees and makes 36 programs every week for various BBC channels. The program aims to give children a sense of the world around them, and it does not avoid "hard news". The success behind "Newsround" and how it operates are discussed.
