On the interpretation of the Nash bargaining solution and its extension to non-expected utility preferences

Article Abstract:

A study was done to reevaluate basis for the Nash axiomatic bargaining theory. The study analyzes the interpretation of the theory's bargaining solution and includes non-expected utility preferences in its scope. The Nash bargaining solution is marked by changes in several economic theorems. The definition of the solution in the equivalent expected utility case provides a Nash statement in common language while expanding its preference set.

Consistent solutions in atomless economies

Article Abstract:

An analysis of the determination of consistent solutions for atomless economies is presented. The analysis focuses on the allocation probleminvolving commodity distribution among many agents who are all entitled to them. These agents function under a complete atomless measure space. It is shown that the best possible allocation scheme must satisfy conditions of efficiency, equity and consistency.

Why are certain properties of binary relations relatively more common in natural language?

Article Abstract:

The properties of binary relations in natural language applications are considered in terms of a finite set. A natural language's function is limited to a minimal number of structured binary relations, which indicates the prevalence of functional properties in such language. These properties also approach an optimality level that defines their common occurrence in natural language.
