Molecular aspects of the calbindins

Article Abstract:

The expression of the calbindin gene is mediated by vitamin D receptors in different tissues. Receptor control is probably the modulating element in the regulation of calbindin by other factors. Differential regulation by other genes is also involved in controlling the response of calbindin to different stimuli. Glucocorticoids have also been proven to regulate calbindin activity. It is shown that different regulatory mechanisms control calbindin expression in different tissues.

Robustness properties of inequality measures

Article Abstract:

Information about empirical income distributions are often summarized using inequality measures. However, such measures may give a distorted picture of the distribution and of changes in the distribution in the presence of contaminated data, with the underlying properties of the inequality measure influencing the nature of the distortion. The validity of this argument is investigated.
