AUSA's 50th Annual Meeting: Our Army at war-relevant and ready

Article Abstract:

AUSA's 2004 Annual Meeting and exposition, the three-day event attended by 32,000 people at the new Washington, D.C. Convention Center, featured presentations, conferences, speeches, and a series of educational forums to enhance professional development. The U.S. Army, which is an invaluable part of the nation's war against terrorism, has changed over the years, but the courage and sacrifice shown by the soldiers still remains the foundation of the Army.

The 5th BCT: Full spectrum war; full-force adaptation

Article Abstract:

The work done by the 1st Cavalry Division's 5th Brigade Combat Team (BCT) in keeping the peacekeeping mission on track despite their fighting engagements is described. The soldiers belonging to the BCT had to fight insurgents continuously for the first three days but they knew that they had to continue their work in the stability and support operations (SASO) also.

The war against terrorism - be ready: V Corps trains to deploy quick and strike deep

Article Abstract:

A visit to training exercises conducted by a 1st Aviation Regiment company is described. Company B of the 1st Battalion, was training at an airbase in northern Poland, in preparation for engagement in the Afghanistan conflict. Apache, Chinook, and Black Hawk helicopters were being used.
