Getting serious about NCO leadership

It had been generally agreed that the Marine Corps' noncommissioned officers should provided with more extensive training and opportunities, but little had been done about it. Specific suggestions are reviewed.

The Combined Arms Exercise provides an efficient training session, but improvements could be made. Suggestions involving targets, hand grenade procedures, and the battle drill are discussed, along with follow-up plans.

US Marine Corps career-level schools provide inadequate instruction on the essential skill of integrating air and ground units. This situation might be remedied with the combining of various schools.
