Outrider

Article Abstract:

Alliant Techsystems Inc's Outrider unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) has finished its advanced concept technology demonstration phase in the summer of 1998. The future of the UAV, whether it will be commissioned for full fielding to the US Army or relegated to the same fate as the Hunter and the Aquila, is now in the hands of the army's decision makers. The Outrider is presented the 65% to 75% solution to the Army's UAV requirement but falls short of the specifications contained in the JROC 150-95.
