An imperiled mission? President's visit to Afghanistan fails to ease concerns for future

Article Abstract:

The US mission to help Afghanistan grow its democracy and inorder to free Afghans from Taliban, has grown increasingly imperiled since the September 2005 National Assembly elections. One of the bloggers pointed out that voter participation rates tumbled by a third between the October 2004 presidential election and 2005 September's election and he blames voter alienation on the government's failure to deliver basic necessities such as electricity and safe water.
