Aspiring Marine officers from the Naval Academy should attend Officer Candidates School

Article Abstract:

The US Naval Academy currently sends its Marine officer candidates to the Leatherneck Program, rather than the Officer Candidates School (OCS). However, this procedure should be reversed, as the OCS provides more complete training for potential Marine officers.

LRCs -- where distance learning meets the Marine

Article Abstract:

The Marine Corps is in the process of modernizing its education and training services, and learning resource centers are playing an important part in that modernization. Such centers are especially helpful to those Marines who do not have access to computers.

Distance education in the military; college degrees are as close as the nearest computer

Article Abstract:

Computer technology, along with online services, have made a college education available to many, including Marines and other military personnel. The flexibility and other benefits of such an education are discussed.
