BMT swells despite 'slow' defence

Article Abstract:

British Maritime Technology Ltd (BMT) reported profits of more than 1.85 million pounds sterling ($2.92 million) in 1999. The performance, which also saw an increase in the firm's capital and reserves by 800,000 pounds, was achieved despite an admittedly 'slow' worldwide defense market. BMT, which made the report during a press conference held in London, England, in Feb 2000, also disclosed an increase in total revenue of 44.5 million pounds for the year and the purchase of additional firms.
