Ballistic protection equipment: Manufacturing techniques and their effectiveness--A personal view

Article Abstract:

A designer of ballistic protection equipment believes that it never will be possible to design a protective system to defeat hundred per cent of threats over the total body area though vital organ protection was always the criteria. He is apprehensive that with the increasing threat from fragmentation and the over reliance of the NIJ standards for military applications may result in protection equipment being used that does not match the operational requirements.
