Enhancing operational and strategic logistics to meet future demands of the Royal Malaysian Navy

Article Abstract:

The Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) has adopted total life-cycle acquisition and logistics processes, but it is still a great challenge for the logistic department to discharge its responsibility in meeting the growing demand of ships upkeep during its life cycle. The RMN will be receiving its first Patrol Vessel (PV) manufactured by PSC-ND and Blohm+Voss, Germany, in 2004 and it has already accepted its SUPER LYNX helicopters from Westland Helicopter Ltd., England.

The Royal Malaysian Navy Air Wing

Article Abstract:

The history and mission of the Royal Malaysian Navy Air Wing, also known as KD RAJAWALI, is discussed. It is celebrating its 14th year of zero accident record in 2004 and this year also marks a milestone with the arrival of new generation helicopters, the British made GKN Westland SUPER LYNX and the French Eurocopter FENNEC, to replace the ageing WASPs.

Royal Malaysian Navy: central role in SE Asia

Article Abstract:

The role of the Royal Malaysian Navy's plans to play a central role in the maritime affairs in Southeast Asian waters is discussed. They are serious about controlling illicit traffic in the critical Malacca Strait thus making it a safe passage to the world's international shipping.
