Belgian consortium wins contract for MRCC

Article Abstract:

A Belgian consortium of Barco, Fabricom GTI and Tein Telecom was awarded the EURO 4.2 million (US$5.5 million) contract to build a new Maritime Rescue and Co-ordination Centre (MRCC) for the English Channel and the southern sector of the North Sea in Ostend, Belgium by June 2006. For the MRCC project, BARCO developed an integrated monitoring system combining an advanced vessel traffic system with an incident management system and a search-and-rescue module.

Radmor displays new PRR outside Poland for the first time

Article Abstract:

Poland's Radmor radio company has chosen SOFEX to give its latest R35010 personal role radio (PRR) in 2006, which is its first airing outside the country. This 280 gm radio, compliant with the modified 802.15.4 IEEE WiFi standard, operates in the 2,405-2480 MHz band and features 16 channels with 5 MHz channel spacing.

GAO confirms award of USN's NMT systems contract to Raytheon
