'Black Sunday'- There for each other

Article Abstract:

The experiences of PFC Gonzales, PFC Chavis, Sgt. Alexander and Spc. Milks who had to face the ambush in Sadr City on April 4 2004, while traveling in a light medium tactical vehicle, which was on its way to join a second reinforcement convoy is described. These four soldiers survived the ambush and realized that in a fight it is important to identify the persons on whom one can depend.

A tribute to the American soldier

Article Abstract:

Kenneth O. Preston, the Sergeant Major of the Army, accepted the 2004 George Catlett Marshall Medal, AUSA's highest annual honor award, on behalf of all the past, present and future American soldiers. Preston recalled the examples of individual heroism and sacrifice to show contributions made by American soldiers in defending the country for 229 years.

The Devils keep up the heat

Article Abstract:

The role of the 82nd Airborne Division'rs Task Force (TF) Devil in the war in Afghanistan has been highlighted with TF Devil leading the fight on the ground supported by TF Saber in the air. Photographs taken by the author during Operation Mongoose have been included.
