The ethical warrior of the 21st century: Personal development through martial arts

Article Abstract:

The Marine Corps Martial Arts Program (MCMAP) is designed to improve the warfighting capabilities of individual Marines and units and enhance their confidence to develop the warrior ethos of the 21st century Marine Corps. The personal development of each Marine is achieved in a team framework by the weapons-based MCMAP system that integrates combat equipment with physical and mental challenges and shared adversity that tests character, to create an expert ethical warrior.

Marine foreign military advisors: The road ahead

Article Abstract:

Marine Corps has provided hundreds of Marines as advisors and trainers to foreign militaries in support of the global war on terrorism (GWOT), who are operating in many diverse countries such as Iraq, Afghanistan and so on. Marine Corps advisors would continue to play a significant role in the prosecution of the GWOT in both Iraq and Afghanistan and in other less acclaimed areas of operations.

Expeditionary warrior: the Marine Corps and Title 10 Wargaming

Article Abstract:

The emergence, approach and experience of the expeditionary warrior (EW) Title 10 wargaming program, typically focused on force development shaped by a particular Service's vision of its future, is described. The EW 04 will focus on closer operational cooperation between the Marine Corps and Special Operations Command (SOCom) to counter the global war or terrorism.
