Broken Windows: Military justice in the Army reserve

The myth and reality of the military justice system in the Army Reserve are examined and steps to improve it are taken to bring the Army Reserve and the active component closer. George Kelling and James Q. Wilson wrote in eBroken WindowsE that the law enforcement community had concentrated their efforts extensively on major crimes like murder and robbery and ignored lesser offenses.

Full-time support for part-time soldiers is essential for unit readiness

Article Abstract:

Readiness of the Army Reserve unit is the important in the on going war in Iraq as out off only 20 percent of the Army's organized units, the Army Reserve has nearly half of the total combat support and a quarter of the mobilization base expansion capability. Therefore full time support is necessary for the part time soldiers so that they would be ready for the operations.

The revolution in military logistics and the Army Reserve

A transformation of the US Army is underway, as well as a transformation of its logistics. The effect of this 'revolution in military logistics' on the US Army Reserve is discussed. Army Chief of Staff General Eric K. Shinseki has the deployment goal of five divisions in 30 days.
