Brunei OPV dispute nears resolution

BAE Systems instigated proceedings against the Brunel government after the Sultanate's refusal to accept the 95 m ships in 2006. However, the Royal Brunei Technical Services Sdn Bhd, the Brunei governmentEs procurement agent claims that the new ships do not meet contract specifications and is refusing to take delivery.

Norway's littoral striker sails into stormy waters

Article Abstract:

The new Skjold-class fast strike craft would be introduced in the Royal Norwegian Navy in 2008 it could face difficulties due to the trimming down of the Norwegian fleet. It is felt that the new Skjold class would provide greater capability that that of the fast patrol boats being used by the Royal Norwegian Navy.

UK's BVT shipbuilding joint venture awaits green light from government

Article Abstract:

VT Group and BAE Systems is awaiting the approval of the U.K. Government to establish their joint venture namely BVT Surface Fleet Ltd. BVT would include surface shipbuilding and help activities of BAE Systems Surface Fleet Solutions and VT Group after the approval of the U.K. government.
