Building better "razor blades"

Article Abstract:

The area of precision weapons was one of the few areas of military investment to win ringing endorsement from all the advisory panels at the Quadrennial Review in 2001. These are defined less by size and more by mobility and swiftness, and have the capacity not only to increase the number of targets that an aircraft can hit with precision on every mission, but also confine the damage done to the desired area, a critical requirement in large-scale urban combats.

Wings to come; procurement budgets may be limited, but technology continues to evolve

Article Abstract:

Several concept aircraft designs, from companies such as Northrup Grumman and Lockheed Martin, are presented. The aircraft have the potential for military use, for use by NASA, and even for future airline use.
