Central command unit deployment program

Article Abstract:

A practical solution is provided for the 7th Marine Regiment (7th Mar) battalions participating in the unit deployment program (UDP). The modification in the 7th Mar UDP is that they are sent to Southwest Asia (SW) instead of Okinawa, which allows the 7th Mar battalions to become masters of their environment, the desert, while maintaining the current balance of forces in both Pacific Command (PaCom) and Central Command (CentCom).

The confusing state of PME for captains: Clearing the fog

Article Abstract:

Considerable confusion prevails in the company grade community as to what is exactly required to make a captain professional military education (PME) complete. The existing PME requirements for the grade of captain are clarified to enable company grade officers to make decisions regarding PME opportunities, while also suggesting a role for senior officers in mentoring their captains to make informed and relevant PME choices.

The Marine Special Operations Command: clearing the final hurdle

Article Abstract:

The Marine Corps should have its own component under the US Special Operations Command. The Command was created in 1986, and the Marine Corps declined to participate in it, but now it should participate in an effort to evolve its approach and strategy. Such a unit is necessary for national security.
