Colombian navy fights drugs

Article Abstract:

An important role is played by ColombiaEs small submarine service in the US-led war on drugs, mainly attributed by two German-built Type 209 diesel-electric boats and two of the Italian-built midget submarines. It is estimated by the Colombian Navy that around 29% of cocaine coming from their country is exported through the Caribbean, 70% through the Central-American corridor and 1% by air.
