Combat training centres: a quantum leap in training

Article Abstract:

Combatr Training Centres (CTC) are sites which provide simulated environment where maneuver units consisting of two opposing forces and their combat- and combat service-supports can practice their missions and tasks. CTC training are designed to boost the collective efficiency of a combat unit under the most realistic simulated battlefield environment. Direct-fire weapon systems are instrumented to simulate signatures and effects as well as indirect-fire weapons and obstacles.

AFVs for peace support operations

Article Abstract:

Armored Fighting Vehicles (AFVs) are gaining increased used in Peace Support Operations (PSOs), which are mostly, although not always and necessarily, under UN mandate. The PSOs requires increased used of AFVs due to its capability of providing visible military presence and performing day-to-day chores of humanitarian missions and the delivery of aid. AFVs visibly represents peacekeeping or peace-enforcing rules.

Home-made explosive mixtures used by terrorists eventually were upgraded to military-standard explosives. It is predicted that the next available escalation will be the prominent and most feared Weapons of Mass Destruction.
