Countering the IED threat

Article Abstract:

US President George W. Bush announced on 11 March 2006 that he is dedicating every available resource, the ingenuity of the best scientists and engineers and the determination of military to end the Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) threat as it pose the biggest threat to US service members. With this aim, the US Deputy Defense Secretary, Gordon England signed a memo that established a new high-level structure at the Department of Defense, the Joint IED Defeat Organisation (JIEDDO).

Article Abstract:

The article examines issues surrounding the procurement of the A400M aircraft as a negative manifestation of the European integration process. Germany and Italy have received criticism from other European countries for delaying or refusing the purchase of the A400M, regardless of whether the two nations have a need for the aircraft.
