Huge ships, high-tech, and high-value

Article Abstract:

The passenger liner industry boasts of having the biggest ships in the world. Their size, at weights greater than the biggest aircraft carriers available in the US Navy's inventory, is only matched by innovations that are built into the ships' design, maintainability and propulsion systems. Some of the biggest cruise ships in the world include Royal Caribbean Cruise Line's 142,000-ton 'Voyager of the Sea' and the 160,000-ton 'Queen Mary 2' that will enter service in 2003.
