DD(X): Transformational or revolutionary?

Article Abstract:

DD(X) programme will create a fundamental change in the relationship between the Marine Corps (USMC) and Navy (USN) in warfighting, which is a critical transformation. DD(X) will provide volume and precision fires that are critical enablers for ship-to-objective manoeuvers and support of joint forces ashore.

Ten major technologies and systems are being developed for the U.S. Navy's new DD (X) destroyer. The integrated power system is key to building a fast, minimally crewed war-ship that can run futuristic radar systems, lasers and rail guns and all onboard systems.
