Significant events in Transformation: Stryker battalions enter evaluation phase

Article Abstract:

The external evaluation of (EXEVAL) of a Stryker Brigade Combat Team (SBCT) unit incorporated scenarios that allowed the battalions to demonstrate combat capabilities such as offensive operations, raids, military operations in urban terrain and defense against an integrated opposing force (OPFOR) attack and brought to the fore the advantages of the integrated combined arms structure. The success of this evaluation should see the movement of the SBCT transformation process to a brigade level EXEVAL followed by a certification exercise at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) that will mark initial operational capability for the SBCTs.
