Transatlantic contracting: amid changing opportunities in US, 'presence' remains important

The US market remains an important market for European defense firms but many companies fail to build a presence there by building a strong US subsidiary or bidding at available contracting opportunities. The US Army's Objective Force Warrior and the US Coast Guard's 'Deepwater' equipment program are said to offer opportunities for European firms.
