DML-led team wins submarine support contract

Article Abstract:

The Submarine-Management Group forged by DML, BMT Defence Services Ltd. and Systems Engineering & Assessment Ltd. has landed a $32.6-million contract from the UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) to provide in-service support to the Royal Navy's (RN's) submarine fleet. The five-year contract includes an option for another five years, and will create 100 jobs. The contract will also cover design-support services to all RN's submarine classes, including the Vanguard SSBNs, Swiftsure and Trafalgar SSNs, as well as the vessels' combat systems and technical data. The management group's task will range from designing modifications or the installation of new equipment to maintaining a master library of design information and drawings.
