Development of Malaysia's maritime defense industry

Article Abstract:

Malaysia possesses the second most diversified and advanced maritime defense industrial base after Singapore, among the ASEAN countries. A Defense Industry Blueprint, which is still being formulated, details new approaches and initiatives in offset programmes, acquisition of technology and related activities in line with promoting the development of local defense industry in a structured and holistic way.

General failure

Article Abstract:

The U.S.'s prospect of convincingly winning the war against Iraq is slowly diminishing and the deteriorating conditions in the region may even lead to a regional war. This failure on the battlefield is attributed to America's general officer corps, Generals going to the war without any preparation or support are putting the country in grave danger and the U.S. should quickly learn from this debacle.

The fourth dimension

Article Abstract:

The recent Israel-Hezbollah war provides support for the emergence of a new generation of warfare, the fourth generation. This kind of war is the one in which there is no decisive battle, no decisive winner and no clear vanquished and in which the major participant is not a state (Hezbollah) and where only technological superiority will not decide the fate of the war.
