Article Abstract:

Basic concepts in digital communications are discussed in order to support subsequent discussions on the jamming and intercept of digital signals. Topics such as signal transmission and digital radio frequency modulations are explained. Figures that represent the processes involved are also presented.

Knife-edge diffraction

Article Abstract:

A non-line-of-sight propagation over a mountain or ridge line is estimated similarly to a propagation over a knife edge, a very common practice amongst electronic warfare professionals. The calculation of knife-edge diffraction (KED) is presented in detail.
