E-2D will provide richer picture of the battlespace

Article Abstract:

The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is designed to provide airborne situational awareness, battle management and theatre missile defense capabilities to a wide array of users and commanders and it also has an enhanced fuselage and improved Identification-Friend-or-Foe system. The Naval Air Systems Command is planning to buy 75 aircraft from the prime contractor Northrop Grumman's Integrated Systems sector, where the first flight is scheduled in August 2007 and initial production units are to be deployed by 2011.

Israel studying feasibility of Littoral Combat Ship

Article Abstract:

Lockheed Martin is awarded a contract to conduct a feasibility study for the Israeli Navy to investigate if the Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) can be adapted to meet Israel's requirements for the Sa'ar 5 Plus Class Frigate Program. The LCS is the latest in a series of alternative considered by the Israel Navy for the program.

Taiwan to receive first Kidd-class destroyers from U.S. military package

Article Abstract:

Taiwan is expected to receive the first two of the four Kidd-class destroyers by the end of 2005, ordered as part of an $875 million military package signed with the United States in 2001. The four units will replace the Gearing-class destroyers Taiwan has received from Unites States between 1973 and 1983.
