EADS wins contract to provide replacement radars for Norwegian Coast Guard ships

Article Abstract:

EADS Defense Electronics has won the contract to provide TRS-3D/16ES air surveillance radars to upgrade the four helicopter-capable patrol ships operated by the Norwegian Coast Guard. The TRS-3Ds would replace the existing AN/SPS-67(V)3 radars supplied by DRS Technologies and the new radars would be coupled with MSSR 20001-monopulse secondary surveillance radar identification friend or for (IFF) equipment.

Sharper systems for smaller ships

Article Abstract:

The Finnish Navy and EADS signed a contract on 6 June 2001, for six fast track craft combat systems for the Squadron 2000 program. The EADS uses the Advanced Naval Combat System (ANCS) approach, for which its operational capabilities included anti-air warfare, anti-surface warfare, electronic warfare, anti-submarine warfare (ASW), mine warfare (MW) and others, such as search and rescue (SAR).

RNLAF concerns increase over targeting pod acquisition being slow to hit the mark

Article Abstract:

The Royal Netherlands Air Force's (RNLAF's) frontline F-16 pilots are increasingly concerned due to internal procedural delays for the acquisition of 20 new, high performance targeting pods. Suppliers will not be able to guarantee a speedy delivery of the targeting pods due to the rise in international demand for this type of equipment.
